2016 – 2018 Executive Board Member
Dominique Luster is the Teenie Harris Archivist at the Carnegie Museum of Art; she is the first archivist to hold an endowed position at the Museum. The Teenie Harris Archive consists of approximately 80,ooo images dating from the 1910s to the 1990s; documenting what might be one of the most unique insights into African American urban life at that time. Prior to her current position, Luster has worked with archives at the University of Kentucky’s Special Collections Library and at the Smithsonian Institute Archives of American Art, and most recently, at the University of Pittsburgh as a Liaison Librarian. Luster received her M.L.I.S in Archives and Information Management from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015 where she focused on Black and Artistic materials.
In addition to her activities in BCALA as a member of the Executive Board, and her activities in the larger ALA organization, Luster is an actively participating member of the Society of American Archivist, the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Pittsburgh, and the Junior League of Pittsburgh.
